What Octi is

Octi is a free guide to events on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. We gather, organise and present event information from organisers, venues and public sources, with attribution and links to the original source.

Octi does not sell tickets. Ticket links take you to third-party sites; your purchase is with that third party under their terms, and we are not a party to it.

Event information can change

We work to keep listings accurate and fresh, and every listing shows where the information came from. Events are run by their organisers, not by us: dates, times, prices, line-ups and venues can change or be cancelled without notice. Always check with the organiser or ticket seller before travelling or buying. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from inaccurate or out-of-date event information.

Your account

You need an account only for personal features (saving events, reminders, RSVPs, follows) or to manage listings as an organiser. Keep your sign-in email secure - anyone with access to it can access your account. You can delete your account at any time.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse Octi. That includes: attempting to gain unauthorised access; scraping at volumes that degrade the service; submitting false, misleading or unlawful event information or reviews; impersonating another person or organisation; and using the service to send spam. We may suspend or remove accounts and content that break these rules.

Organiser and user content

If you submit content (event listings, reviews, images), you confirm you have the right to share it and you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it on Octi and in Octi features (such as search, maps, calendars and share images). You keep ownership of your content. We may edit listings for format and clarity, and may decline or remove any content.

Reviews must reflect genuine experience. We moderate reviews and remove those that are fake, defamatory or abusive.

Our content and marks

The Octi name, mark, design and software are ours. Event facts (dates, times, venues) are not owned by anyone; our descriptions, curation and presentation are. You may share links to Octi freely. Do not republish substantial parts of the service without permission.

Sponsored content

Some placements on Octi may be paid. Paid placements are always labelled "Sponsored" and never affect organic rankings, search results or recommendations.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Octi is provided free of charge; to the extent permitted by law we exclude other warranties, and our total liability for any claim connected to the free service is limited to AUD 100.

Changes, governing law, contact

We may update these terms; the date above shows the current version, and material changes will be noted on the site. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
